2 weeks notice
This week has been one of the most nerve wracking weeks so far... On Saturday I was offered a new position at Cache' as the Assistant Manager... Monday I worked a short shift there and realized how much I don't know and how I hope the sales associates don't hate me for being inexperienced... and today I had to put in my 2 wks notice. I have a zit on my forehead the size of Texas from all this stress! I've had the manager at Cache calling me to see when I can start there, and I've had the regional manager from the apartment complex calling me to see if there was anyway she could convince me to stay... oh the drama. I'm finishing up here on the 19th, and then let's see what happens with my new place.

mother nature is a motha F
I know April showers are around the corner... but there's nothing like sitting in your office watching your brand new car getting pelted with golf ball sized hail balls!
And now I have 2 lovely hail dents on the hood and trunk lid of the Maxima. Thanks Mother Nature!

10 on Tuesday: Spring Makeover Edition
The weather is getting warmer, so you know what that means... time for the world to see more of you sans turtlenecks and heavy coats! Makeovers can be simple and easy... here's a couple things to do to get ready to face the warm weather with your best foot forward!
1. Speaking of feet.... get ( or diy) a pedicure! Scrub those hooves and put a fresh coat of polish on to welcome the spring with cute toes in those cute sandals! Pumice stones or even putting a layer of vaseline on your feet with a sock while sleeping can do wonders! Plus... I cringe when I see a woman with chipped toenail polish or none at all sporting sandals! Men are notorious for nasty ugly feet... but we have ways to disguise and prettify that area... yes its annoying to wait for the polish to dry but trust me sooo worth it.
2. is your hair in a rut? If you are wearing a pony tail everywhere you go, that's probably a good sign that it's time to visit your salon! You might just need a trim or highlight and that will give you new life! Or try to do a different hairstyle everyday for a week, add a headband, or tease some volume into the top... even something small can make a difference!
3. Self tanner... everyone looks better bronzed
4. Whiten those teeth! there are millions of kits out there to use nowadays! I personally don't believe in the whitening toothpastes, gum or mouthwashes but have had tons of success with the whitening gels that go on your teeth for 20 minutes or so.
5. Blush!!! I never used to wear blush, I never wanted to be that woman with hot pink circles on her face. I was reading a magazine article and a fashion icon quoted that her ultimate pet peeve is women not wearing blush. Hmm.... so I started, and it does make a wonderful difference. Especially in pictures, it makes you look more alive and not washed out.
6. Accessorize your outfits! As a person who rarely ever wore necklaces... and frequently had neck envy when I saw someone all put together with a long beautiful necklace on, I bought one and forced myself to wear it to work. To my surprise, I had a lot of compliments! I always felt "over done" with earrings and necklaces and watches etc... but I guess as long as it adds to you instead of distracting all attention to just the necklace then its great! Plus I found its a nice way to update an outfit and change it up to feel fresh again! Start small... and you will agree
7. Back to nails. This spring there are lots of interesting shades of nail polish that are on trend. I have purchased 2 colors that I never thought I would ever like! I bought a light lilac color and a light grey since I'm definately not bold enough to wear green or blue. The colors are flattering and are helping me break the dark nail polish color cycle that I've been in for the past year or so. The grey gets the most comments, but I'm so glad I took the chance! Try a flesh tone if you don't want to go too crazy... the "manequin hand look" is in now so the nudes are a safe place to start
8. Eyebrows: I am an eyebrow fanatic, ever since my mother sat on my chest and plucked mine for the first time when I was in 7th grade (lol) I started on my path to beautifully arched eyebrows. I've had them waxed (scary... especially since there was a language barrier and they kept getting thinner and thinner even though I specifically said NO THINNER) and threaded and still could never seem to get a consistant shape and often left with the feeling of "I can't wait til these grow in" My solution: there is an eyebrow kit from Anastasia that you can buy at Sephora or Ulta. Anastasia is the queen of celebrity eyebrows and she has made kits so us common folk can look beautiful too. There are stencils in there so both eyebrows can match up perfectly. I bought this kit a couple months ago and will never let my brows fall into the hands of anyone else... trust me, you will love it!
9. No matter how skilled of a makeup artist you are, if you have bad skin your talent will not be as appreciated! Solution? Run, not walk and get the Olay Facial Cleanser! It's a little facial scrub brush thats battery powered and in a week of use, my face was already softer and smoother! It makes my face soo clean and has improved my complexion soo much! I can't rave enough about this little guy, if you don't take any of my tips just please try this one
10. Last tip of the day... try a new perfume! If you have a perfume that is your favorite and have been using for years you can get used to it after awhile. Wake up your nose and grab a floral scent for spring! It doesn't have to replace your favorite, but change can be good!

10 on Tuesday
1. I found the perfect shirt for Kim's leprechaun crazed daughter Sophie. I saw this and just had to send it to her, and hopefully it will grant her some luck in catching one in her trap on St. Patty's Day
good luck Sophie B!
2. My husband has been sick with the mother of all upper respitory infections! Of course we don't have a thermometer in our house, but I know he had the HIGHEST temperature I've ever felt on a human yesterday! I had to switch my day off this week to stay home and play nurse and he's feeling better today :)
3. I'm just going to go with my gut and grab some boy outfits for my cousin Jess's mystery baby shower. I will be sooo happy if I'm right and it is a boy! If not, oh well I'll give her the receipt
4. Where is spring? I can't wait until I can put away all these heavy sweaters! I'm getting clastrophobic in those thick turtlenecks!
5. The one weekend I was off the other ancient leasing consultant leased every apartment that was available. the month of May will be a low paying month for me! And its getting entirely too agrivating listening to him brag... come on you are 72 years old... grow up!
6. I went up and visited my mommie on Sunday. It was nice to get out of the city for a day, and I ate until I could barely breathe lol. While I was there Kristen was torturing her cat with a Headless Horseman halloween pet costume. Everyone knows that cats just LOVE to be dressed up with a pumpkin head!
"get it off NOW"
7. So I got a job offer for Assistant Manager at Cache'.... less hours :( but in the right career path :)
do I go for it or not... that is the question
8. I'm going to take my wedding rings to get soldered together this week, I can't wait because they constantly spin around and drive me nuts plus they need to get re-rhodiummed too b/c they're looking a little tarnished. Jared jewelers will do it same day so I won't be without them for a long time :)
9. Any suggestions for patio furniture?? We have a big deck on our townhouse and I'm thinking of couches and ottomans instead of the table and umbrella combo. I checked Walmart but didn't like what they had.
10. new favorite snack alert: Quaker Oatmeal Breakfast Cookies are sooooo good! They have become my 3 o'clock snack choice! Its a cookie but its good for you, how can you go wrong!

10 on Tuesday: Catching Up
First, my apologies go to my cousin 3Carrs b/c she started this idea a long time ago and I'm just now jumping on her wagon! Ok, here goes my 10 on Tues!
1. I watched the first episode of Bethenny Ever After last night. Her bluntness is refreshing, but wow I give her husband some credit b/c if my spouse was as high maintenance as Bethenny I would be in a continuous state of exhaustion or depression! My head was spinning just watching her and the millions of words a minute that leave her mouth!
2. I love my Olay facial cleanser... it is the best thing invented and about 100% cheaper than the Clarisonic one and does the exact same thing! My skin has never been so soft and glowy
3. For some reason, I can't seem to cook anymore. Everything I've been making lately has turned out bland and not very appetizing. So, any suggestions for something easy but yummy please let me know so I can get out of my dinner rut!
4. idk if it's just me, but I cannot WAIT until I can pack away my winter coats! The weather here in Pittsburgh is that annoying middle ground btwn a wool coat being too heavy and a spring jacket not being enough. So, do u sweat or freeze? I've been chosing to freeze since I like my trench coat better and it doesn't attrack kitty hairs like the wool ones do
5. My job search is going NOWHERE. I look, I'm open to new fields and even applying to entry levels but nada is turning in my favor. So whats next... back to school? I cringe at the thought of papers again!
6. My cousin is having a baby shower in 2 wks... what do u buy for a mystery sex baby? yellow and green stuff I guess. I wish they found out!
7. I'm in a new love/hate relationship with Cache' I LOVE they're clothes... the fabrics are better quality than INC from Macys and the styles are very unique but I HATE the pricing... some things = way overpriced! I did splurge on a sweater last week only to see that the next day it was 50% off but I went back and they gave me the new pricing so kudos to them. I'll stick to the sale rack from now on!
8. I'm working on trying to get my post surgery foot back into a pair of heels. I have a wedding to go to on April 9th and I'm so close to being able to wear a mid size heel, I've been stretching my toe so I can get some flexibility back into my joint so I can get into the high heel position again. I love flats but I just don't feel as dressed up wearing them especially to a fancy wedding in the Carnegie Museum!
9. I'm having trouble finding something to wear to before mentioned wedding... I think the weather is throwing me off, it could be warm but then it could still snow. this is PA so you never know!
10. I have started Revita-Lash. its a way cheaper form of Latisse but promises the same result minus the prescription. I'll let you know if it works or if I fell victim to another beauty product promise!
Have a great day everyone!

I'm back!
Hello, its been soo long since I've been on here! Updates: I'm now married (will be 2 yrs in August already) and that is great, such a wonderful guy and he even puts up with me lol... no seriously, I love him to death and things couldn't be better :), we have 2 kitties that are 1-ish yrs old, my Little Sis graduated with Honors with her Bachelor's degree and is off for more degrees, and I'm working as a apartment leasing consulting job... not my ideal but it's a "I'm getting paid..." kinda deal so it works until I can find something better :) Hubby and I recently moved into a condo and its nice having more space. Also, its nice to call the boro and tell them to fix things and not have to pay! We've been here since December, and I just now started to hang pictures and make it look "lived in" and in the corniest of ways to say this, but when I come home and look at all the work I've done its like "Ahhhh, I love it!"
So why has it taken 3ish months to decorate??? Well I was laid up after having the 1st go round of my bunion surgery! Ew yes, to any of you fellow foot sufferers... let me say this. I put off having this surgery for probably 10 years b/c I was afraid but after our cousin's wedding in Vegas last October and me standing all weekend in heels in the casinos, I came home and scheduled the first foot! In hindsight, yes it was painful and I'm now invested in Mederma trying to get my scar to disappear, but let me tell you... now that I'm walking and even able to run around and wear shoes without that terrible pinch I can't wait to get the other one done! (and I also can't wait to be able to buy cute sandals that show my foot instead of the Jesus ones I usually buy to cover those nasty things up!) Honestly, yes it sucked to wear the walking boot thing for a month but I'm doing the other one so that's testimonial that it wasn't that bad...
Feet aside... we have a very busy year this year! We have started the trend of our friends getting married and so April starts the wedding season for us. I have a cousin expecting her first baby :) but she won't find out what him/her is until she has it :( .... my gut feeling says boy so lets see. And I'm sure lots of unplanned nonsense. I'll be posting again and way more frequently that years in between lol. Blog, I'm back and I forgot how much I missed you!

legal b.s.
I hate PA. It has to be the most strict and ridiculous state of the union and I'm officially pissed that I have pay taxes to support it.
A couple months back, we decided that Phil's bro in law would get ordained to officiate over our wedding ceremony. That way we wouldn't have some stranger wierdo officiant at our wedding. So we just found out, PA won't accept this as a legal marriage. Every other state will, but PA of course.
Now we're F%$&.... officiants are way expensive, the one person I met at a Bridal Show was a complete wack job! He was swearing! No by all means I could really care less about swearing, but for a person to have a job as a wedding officiant I would think this would mean to employ a little bit of manners! I don't want f bombs at my ceremony thank you very much!
So I said why not just have the courthouse do a civil ceremony and then have his bro in law "officiate" the wedding in front of friends and family?
WEll this is being taken as a fake thing even tho I know of lots of people who have done such things.
I'm ready to elope.... F this wedding bs

birdcage?
Sooo... I have a veil already. But I think I don't like it anymore... As of lately, especially after picking up my dress... I think the details on the dress are just too pretty to cover up with my ebay cheapo veil. I've been thinking of skipping the whole veil thing altogether... or just going for the drama of a birdcage veil and calling it a day. They are a veil with out having a huge gauzy veil. I'm wearing my hair down so why complicate the whole thing by covering it up with something that I'll be throwing in a corner as soon as the ceremony is over? IDK... just a thought...
Oh and get this, so everyone knows that PA is the strictest state in the planet... if PA were a father, I would be locked in a basement. No beer/alcohol in grocery stores, no tinted windows in your car... etc. So, when we had the great idea of having Phil's godfather get ordained for a day to marry us instead of some fruit loop minister, I thought we had it in the bag. WRONG! PA law prohibits anyone being legal to marry unless they have a church and a congregation they preach to on the regular. Back to square one... damn this state!

phew
My dress is here.... and IT FITS!!!
OMG... anxiety! I was almost sick to my stomach this morning what if I can't get it over my fat ass????? I kept envisioning the tv show Bulging Brides where this ex-army guy goes rushing in to bridal boutiques to find women struggling to squeeze into their gowns and then implements a 6 week boot camp to whittle them into shape... I can gladly say that didn't happen to me!
My mommie came to pick up my dress with me and watch how to put this bad boy on. I'm sooo glad she got to come down and see MY dress and not the dirty makeup smeared one I had to try on a couple months ago. Mom even found a gorgeous dress at Macy's today, it's nice to see my Mom all dressed up, wish I had a pic of it.
Thanks Mommy, I love you and couldn't do this with out you!

attack!
We've all seen them... you're casually cruising the mall when THOSE PEOPLE at that Dead Sea Salt stand attack!
They're wearing a little too much makeup and the guys have euro trash pony tails... they speak so quickly and beg you to spend 'just one minute of your time...'
Well, I thought I had the art of ignoring them down to a science... except for today.
I went to the mall to look for a shirt for Easter. After leaving Wet Seal with my $14.99 top :) bargain! I was thinking mmmmm strawberry/bananna smoothie when ahhhh there he was!
Instead of the sort of polite.. exuse me, may I have a minute...
this one jumped out of a trap door from the floor it seemed, got right in my face and goes, OMG you're gorgeous! Too bad you have acne but you're 18 so I have a fix for that before you go to college this fall.
WTF!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! 18? Me? Ok, so I forgot to tell you that for some unknown reason everyone in Pittsburgh thinks I'm barely legal. I get carded everywhere . Even husband to be thought I was 22ish when we met. Hmm... I never ever thought I ever looked young but whatever...
Back to topic, so imagine my surprise when I get accused of being an acne covered highschool senior! My artful tactic of ignoring them fell apart. Immediately I blurted out, "uh no... not 18... I'm 26!" Sucker. There I was being lead by an Israelite little hairy man who kept telling me how Great his skin is...
Then when he lifted my left hand to start scrubbing it with the wonderful Dead Sea salts he almost choked on his tongue when he goes.. OMG you are married already! Oh so young, so young!
Thats when I started thinking, "this dude still thinks I'm 18!" When I told him no not yet, thats when the sales pitch began... oh combination skin, clogged pores, perfect skin on wedding day blah blah blah....
I have had some issues with my skin lately for whatever reason, probably since I'm so annoyed I have had a zit issue is why I still have them.
As much as I fought it, the perfect skin for wedding day kept floating in my head.
Needless to say, I walked away with a bag of Dead Sea scrub and Shea butter lotion. Damn they're good!
